PLoTs also seeks to support community groups with long term loans of equipment – current groups that benefit are listed below.
If you have a Community Project we might be able to help with, get in touch for a conversation. Even if we don’t have the resources available, we may be able to help source the items you need for you from the community.
Ladywood Centre
The library’s kitchen and catering items, including crockery, are on long term loan to the Ladywood Centre where they are used for community meals. If you are having an event and need items, for example crockery, Ladywood may be able to help with a short loan.
We can put you in touch with Ladywood if you would like to make enquiries.
Re-Cycles Penicuik
The library’s bike repair tools and equipment are on long term loan to Re-Cycles Penicuik where they are used to repair dumped and donated bikes to make them roadworthy and affordable for new owners, plus to service people’s own bikes.
Sweet Dignity Repairs and Alterations
The library’s sewing machines are on long term loan to the Sweet Dignity clothing bank to offer repair and alteration classes. We can put you in touch if you would like to make enquiries about borrowing a sewing machine for your own project.
The Community Freezer
The Ambassadors, in conjunction with Food Facts Friends, run the library’s freezer for the community.
